Happy Thursday, Clubbies,

We're getting closer to nailing down a date and venue for the Cleveland meet-up. The week of September 21st seems like the best candidate, possibly that Monday (21) or Wednesday (23). The location will be somewhere in the Ohio City / Tremont / West bank of the Flats area.

The thing about picking a date and location is there isn't one that works for everyone. So we're picking one, rolling with it, and if you can't make it, we'll see ya at the next one.

To keep you better updated, let us know which city you're interested in by taking the survey below. This isn't an RSVP, just an easier way to get a potential head count.

Raise a club soda to Scott

Big shout out to Scott Nixon, who hit two years alcohol-free this week.

Right after Club Soda Club launched last year, Scott sent me a DM. He just wanted to tell me his story and help spread the word. So we met for coffee and we found a lot of common ground in the path that took us here. A little while later, he came back with an idea: what if we took the All Bubbles. No Troubles. slogan and turned it into a series? Real members, real stories.

The internet earns most of the bad rap it gets. But every so often it puts two people in the same room who were never going to meet otherwise. This week I'm thankful for that one and the friendship we’ve developed over the last year.

To celebrate this milestone, we turned the camera around and asked Scott the same questions we ask every guest. His answer to the last one: "There's really nothing but positives that come from stopping. So what are you waiting for?"

Here's to Year III, Scott!

All Bubbles. No Troubles.

Episode #36 - Scott Nixon

A lot of you know his moment: over the handlebars of a bike, fully intoxicated, broken nose, chipped teeth, road rash. That was his get-right moment. The hardest part wasn't quitting itself, it was admitting there was a problem when everything on the outside looked fine. Bills paid, well-liked, good at his job. But once he looked closer at how often alcohol was quietly causing harm, it added up fast.

Two years later, his pitch is simple: give yourself a goal. A 5K, a skill, art, music, anything. Keep your mind and body busy and pointed somewhere. Because his life has only gotten better: the best he's looked, the best he's felt, reliable, present. There's nothing but positives. So what are you waiting for?

📲 Club Soda Club app update. The product team has been heads-down on the Discover tab. I've been testing it all week. It's awesome! Open it up and you'll see what's actually around you, built from the venues Clubbies have been to. Thirty of you have logged 200+ places so far, which means the map already knows things I don't.

Want in early? The beta is invite-only, and the waitlist is one question below. Answer it and you're on the list.

Introducing the Club Soda Club referral Program

Know someone who's thinking about it? There's no membership requirement.

Part-time members, full-time members, "I'm just curious" members. All welcome. So whether you've got a friend who's been saying "I should probably cut back" every Sunday morning for the last six months, or a friend who's already all-in on the alcohol-free life and just hasn't found their people yet — send them your link . They subscribe to the free newsletter, you both win. No pressure, no program, no weird pamphlets.

Basically, if they've ever ordered a club soda (or anything else non-alcoholic) and felt like they had to explain themselves... they're already one of us.
