This club has been a newsletter. An interview series. A website. Awesome t-shirts.

Never a room.

Let's fix that.

The first-ever CSC meet-up is happening in Cleveland.

Monday, September 28th from 6pm to 8pm

BrewDog Outpost, 1956 Carter Rd.

Powered by Q Mixers, the official club soda of Club Soda Club.

Food's handled. Club soda's handled. You just show up.

Fifty spots, on purpose. Big enough for a room, small enough that you'll actually talk to people instead of nodding at them across a bar. Thirty-three are already claimed.

Whether you stopped drinking ten years ago, ten days ago, or you're still deciding, everybody is invited.

Making it official

Here's the part I'm genuinely fired up about: Q Mixers is now the official club soda of every Club Soda Club event.

Not a logo swap. Not a discount code. An actual partnership with a team that believes the same weird thing we do — that if you're not drinking alcohol, you might as well be drinking the best possible club soda on the rocks.

Why Q?

I've had a lot of club soda. Like, a professionally irresponsible amount. So let me tell you what's actually different:

Two ingredients. Carbonated water and a hint of Himalayan salt. That's the whole label. Zero calories, zero sugar, nothing you need to Google.

Max carbonation. Q builds theirs to stay lively down to the last sip instead of going flat by the halfway mark. Their words: the hardest working bubbles in the game. I've stress-tested this. They're right.

Small bottles/cans, big reason. Founder Jordan Silbert is borderline obsessive about this — big plastic bottles and soda guns lose their fizz, glass bottles and cans don't. Which is why bartenders keep voting Q the #1 mixer brand in the country.

Founder energy. Q started out as a tiny startup hoping to build something great. Sound familiar?

Silbert started the whole thing in 2006 in his Brooklyn backyard, making gin and tonics with expensive gin and gas-station tonic, and noticing his teeth felt sticky. He read the label. High fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors. Basically Sprite in a costume.

His line stuck with me: if you're agonizing over which gin you use, you should care just as much about what you're pouring on top of it.

Now flip that. If the mixer is the whole drink, you should care even more.

How this partnership actually started

Tales of the Cocktail, New Orleans, this past July. Scott and I spent four days there drinking club soda at the biggest cocktail festival on the planet.

Q was running a vodka soda competition. Bunch of entries, bunch of vodkas, real judging.

Our winner? The Q club soda. On the rocks. With a lime. No vodka.

All Bubbles. No Troubles.

Episode #39 - Yan Shanklin

Yan Shanklin is one year in, and she's sharing something on the show she'd never talked about publicly: a history of pancreatitis. She'd still been drinking here and there despite it, and a year ago a mild flare-up became the line in the sand. She gave herself a month. Then two, three, four — and here she is a year later. As a social drinker, she always felt a drink was required at any gathering, so the real test was her first event without one. Being fully in the moment surprised her. Her favorite saying sums up the whole thing: ain't nothing to it but to do it. Whatever you set out to do, you can do — she never thought she'd be this person either.

Join the Club Soda Club referral Program

Know someone who's thinking about it? There's no membership requirement.

Part-time members, full-time members, "I'm just curious" members. All welcome. So whether you've got a friend who's been saying "I should probably cut back" every Sunday morning for the last six months, or a friend who's already all-in on the alcohol-free life and just hasn't found their people yet — send them your link . They subscribe to the free newsletter, you both win. No pressure, no program, no weird pamphlets.

Basically, if they've ever ordered a club soda (or anything else non-alcoholic) and felt like they had to explain themselves... they're already one of us.
